Remembrance Sunday is always a sobering time of year. This year against the turbulent backdrop of much global unrest, particularly in Ukraine and Gaza, it felt even more poignant.

In South East Cornwall and around the country, we collectively paused to remember. Not only those who gave their lives in service to protect the peace for future generations, but those caught up in conflicts around the world.

Remembrance is unique in the national calendar, bringing together people from all walks of life, across the generations and bridging political divides.

Now, more than ever, it is important that we remember the high price paid for peace and our human connection to those who still suffer at the hands of war.

Lest we forget.
